In a bid to strengthen its Web3 ecosystem, Alien Worlds has revealed a grant program called Galactic Hubs. The program will award up to 100k $TLM for selected projects in 3 different grants. So, how can Web3 builders take part in the program? Let’s find out.

What are the types of grants available in Alien Worlds’ Galactic Hubs program?
To begin with, there are 3 types of grants that aspiring builders can choose to apply for. These are Accelerated Grants (≤ 5,000 $TLM), Development Grants (≤ 100,000 $TLM), and Pioneer Grants (> 100,000 $TLM).
But what are the differences though? According to Alien Worlds, if your project is related to community contributions such as tutorials, translations, and marketing initiatives, you can apply for Accelerated Grants. The application will be open until August 16th.
Next, Development Grants are catered to more advanced developments for Alien Worlds. While Pioneer Grants will fund highly complex solutions through a case-by-case review. The application will be open until June 20th for both grants.
Lastly, keep in mind that creators can only apply for the category that best suits their projects for each grant. There are 5 of them, namely Technical Infrastructure, eSports & Gaming, Art & Collectibles, Storytelling, and Real-world applications/solutions. Take note that for each category, there is a maximum number of grants available as shown in the table below.

What are the selection criteria for the grant?
There are a few aspects that the judges will look for, before giving out grants to potential projects in Alien Worlds. Firstly, make sure the project brings clear benefits and values to the community of Alien Worlds. Moreover, the team must be able to describe how they will use the funds to build their project. And finally, the team should display a strong ability to execute the project.
But to make it to the final round, the project must score at least 14 out of 20 to pass. You can find a detailed breakdown of the scoring criteria below:
- How well the project outcome meets the project goal (Score 1-5).
- The complexity of the work (Score 1-5).
- Quality of execution of the work (Score 1-5).
- Creativity and innovation of the project (Score 1-5).
According to Alien Worlds, Directors and Category Judges will decide which project to award grants to based on its final score.
How can I register for the program?
If you think you have what it takes to join the Galactic Hubs program by Alien Worlds, make sure you fill out the application form over here. If chosen, candidates will receive an email notification to move into the next stage. So get ready, builders!
Is Alien Worlds looking to expand its universe in 2022?
The grant announcement came at a time when NFT and crypto markets are down in general. Clearly, Alien Worlds is looking to enforce its ecosystem to weather the storms.
On the other hand, the team is actively onboarding non-crypto natives to the game as well. Back in March, the team announced a new bridge with Minecraft so that players can mine $TLM directly from Minecraft servers.
