OVER, a Metaverse platform focused on geolocalized AR/VR experiences, has announced the integration of Sandbox assets on its app’s latest update. From now on, NFT holders can move their Sandbox NFTs throughout the OVER platform.
What Is Over x The Sandbox Update All About?
In the real world, people can move their physical assets quickly and easily from one area to another. The same thing doesn’t apply in the Metaverse. You can’t simply take NFTs or other digital assets from one platform to another.
To address this difficulty, OVER developers updated the app’s interface giving Sandbox users control of their NFTs on OVER’s platform. Moreover, OVER publishes a standard that any creator can use to onboard their 3D-rigged assets, which makes them automatically usable on its platform.
Ultimately, the latest version of OVER also allows users to invite friends without leaving the app. It provides new opportunities for NFT fans to connect and collaborate.
“Interoperability, or the lack thereof, is one of the main problems plaguing the Metaverse industry,” says Davide Cuttini, OVER’s CEO and Co-Founder. “The Sandbox is one of the largest and most influential platforms in the space. We are very thrilled to enable the integration of their assets with our Metaverse world.”
More On OVER Metaverse Platform
OVER is a world-scale, open-source AR platform powered by the Ethereum Blockchain that is based in Italy. It is a community-owned Metaverse that uses NFTs as a bridge between the digital and physical worlds through advanced geolocation.
Its users have already scanned more than a million landmarks and locations as part of its “Pokemon Go”-styled treasure hunt using only a standard smartphone camera.
Lastly, OVER is the first one to create a content browser where the available AR/VR experiences are tied to the user’s location.
