Guild of Guardians (GoG) is a P2E mobile role-playing game (RPG) on the Ethereum network. Developed by Stepico Game and published by Immutable, the team took inspiration from popular mobile titles like Diablo when they were creating GoG.
Impressively, the game has garnered more than 200k players on its waitlist to date. In fact, GoG has received backing from some of the biggest player-DAOs in the space such as YGG and Real Deal Guild. Without a doubt, GoG is one of the most highly-anticipated blockchain RPGs that you should keep an eye on. Let’s dig in!

Guild of Guardians: What you need to know about this game
In the game of Guild of Guardians, you can build your own team of heroes, complete dungeons, and collect resources. You can then craft special in-game items and heroes using the resources you have. And sell them for fiat money. The P2E concept is simple, but it takes some strategies to earn a lot.
As of now, the Guild of Guardians game is at a closed pre-alpha stage. Although the game is free to play, you can choose to buy founder NFTs such as Heroes, Guilds, or Pets from the secondary marketplace. These founder NFTs, especially the Founder Heroes are made up of Legendary, Epic, and Rare powerful Heroes. Just own one of these, and you’ll gain an edge over players with common heroes in battles.

Hero NFTs
Heroes are playable characters that will fight by your side in the Guild of Guardians game. Every Hero will have its own Faction, Class, and Element. Not to mention that each of them will come in different rarities: Legendary, Epic, Rare, and Common. In essence, each of these features will affect your gameplay in some ways.
- Factions: Horde, Glade, and Empire.
- Classes: Mage, Ranged, and Melee.
To get a Hero NFT, you can purchase them from a secondary marketplace. You can also summon a common hero (non-NFT) for free from the game. If you wish to summon Heroes, you will need summoning shards which can be found by playing the Guild of Guardians game.
Ultimately, you will need at least 4 Heroes to form a squad. So make sure they are in synergy with each other before you put them in a team.

Join a guild to earn more
As the name implies, you can only earn NFTs by playing and crafting together as a guild. How it works is that guild members will contribute crafting materials to their guild to craft NFTs. These NFTs will then be sold automatically in the marketplace. At last, players will get the profit splits in proportion to their contribution.
On top of that, guild leaders can get the first cut (at a fixed percentage) out of any guild crafting sale. If you wish to be a guild leader, you need to purchase a guild token. There are 4 types of them: Adventurers Guild, Warriors Guild, Legends Guild, and Mythic Guild. The bigger the guild, the faster the guild can progress to craft more NFTs.
Other ways to play and earn in the Guild of Guardians game
For free-to-play (F2P) players, you can merge your common heroes to get those of a higher rarity. Take note that only heroes that are Rare or better, are tradeable in the marketplace. With this mechanism, F2P players will always stand a chance to earn legendary heroes for free.
Lastly, another way to earn is by completing daily quests or reaching certain progressions in the game. Upon completion, you can earn some Guild of Guardians gems tokens ($GOG). In the upcoming updates, guilds can also compete with each other to earn “leaderboard prizes”. This will likely take place on a seasonal basis.
Final thoughts
Nonetheless, there’s still a long way to go for the Guild of Guardians. According to its roadmap, the game will only go live by the second half of 2023. Until then, the team will take time to fine-tune the game based on the feedback they received from the Alpha and Beta tests.
