Nyan Heroes is a 3rd person NFT shooter game on the Solana network. Here, you’ll get to control Guardian Mechs with brave Nyan Heroes piloting them in PvE and PvP battles. Taking place in the fictional world of Eden, players can fight along with Nekovia citizens, Nyans, to earn $CTNP.
And if you think that Nyan Heroes is just another P2E game, get this. For each Genesis Nyan NFT that you bought, you will help save a cat in real life. On 24 December last year, the team donated a total of $250,000 from the profits of its first NFT drop to the non-profit Best Friends Society. Not so bad at all if you could play games for a good cause right?

What you need to know about Nyan Heroes
To begin with, the game has received backing from the likes of Defiance Capital, Three Arrows Capital, Solana, and more. Plus, big player DAOs like Yield Guild Games invested in the game early this year. What’s more, Brycent, a top Axie Infinity streamer is the growth advisor of the game too. With such strong support from industry veterans, Nyan Heroes is a GameFi project not to be missed this year.
As of now, the Alpha game release will only happen in Q4 this year. So, while waiting for that, let’s get you prepped for the game. We shall take a look at the different types of NFTs in the game. Then, we will review how play-to-earn works in Nyan Heroes.
Different types of NFTs in the game
Mainly, there are 3 types of NFTs in Nyan Heroes:

- Genesis Nyan NFTs: For a start, there are 11,111 of them in Nyan Heroes. Right now, they are all fully minted and you can find them on secondary marketplaces like OpenSea. Just get one of these to guarantee your early access to the Beta game and land pre-sales. In fact, starting 9 December 2021, holders can stake their Nyan NFTs to earn $CTNP for the next 6 months. Holders can also claim 2 Genesis Guardian NFTs as mighty allies for their Nyans later.
- Guardian NFTs: Guardians are mecha bots that Nyans will pilot during battles in Nyan Heroes. In total, there are 9 classes of Guardians: Warrior, Defender, Brawler, Assassin, Sniper, Medic, Scout, Mechanic, and Soldier. Each has its own unique abilities. So, choose your Guardians wisely. As of now, only Genesis Nyan holders can mint the Guardian NFTs. This will happen any time in Q2 this year.
- Land NFTs: Not many details on land NFTs, but holding one will allow you to set up guilds in the game. This will unlock guild-only quests and boss raids in the game. Guilds can also share resources, allowing large parties to form scholarship programs in-game. The team is targeting to launch land sales in Q4 this year.

How can I play to earn in Nyan Heroes?
Nyan Heroes is using a dual-token model: $NYN (governance token) and $CTNP (utility token). You can earn both tokens from PvE and PvP battles throughout the game. Take note that the team has not launched any of these tokens yet. The only way to earn now is by staking your Genesis Nyan NFTs to get $CTNP.
As shown in the table above, $CTNP will be required to level up characters and weapons. This will be useful for PvE battles but not PvP fights. For PvPs, all Guardian mechs will start from level 1 and level up using mana crystals during battle.
In case you’re wondering, the game is free to play (F2P) as well. However, F2P players will not be able to upgrade their Guardians, so it can be difficult for them to progress in PvE and in some of the guild missions.
All in all, Nyan Heroes is still in its infancy and the gameplay might change from time to time. If you’re looking for more battle royale blockchain games like this, look out for more GameFi projects in The Mediaverse!
