Crabada is an interesting blockchain game on the Avalanche blockchain with passive income opportunities through its “idle” gameplay. As the name suggests, Crabada NFTs are NFT hermit-crabs with rich lore centering around a prosperous and ancient Hermit-Crab Kingdom.

The Play-and-Earn model of Crabada provides passive income
Crabada is a play-to-earn blockchain game on the Avalanche blockchain. Specifically, it describes itself as a “Play-and-Earn Idle Game”. In other words, Crabada’s main game mode does not require players to actively engage.
To explain, ‘Mining Expeditions’ are the Idle Game at the center of Crabada. Firstly, players form a mining party of three Crabada NFTs. Then players deploy their mining party to a vacant mine. After that, players can sit back as their Crabada begin mining.
The in-game currency that players earn through mining is called TUS (Treasure Under Sea). In addition, players also earn the CRA (The Crabada token). To clarify, CRA is a governance token for Crabada. In contrast to TUS, which can only be earned through playing, players can also earn CRA as a staking reward. Both CRA and TUS are ARC-20 tokens, which are ERC-20 tokens that wrap an Avalanche Native Token.

The different game modes of Crabada
Aside from mining, players can earn TUS through two other game modes at this time.
On one hand, there’s looting. This involves players forming a Looting Party (also of three Crabada). Players then deploy the looting party to a mine that another player is mining from. At that point, the looting party and mining party engage in “claw-to-claw” combat. A looting mission can take between 1 and 2.5 hours. Significantly, the player holding the mining party can send reinforcements to defend the mine.
Finally, players can lend out their unused Crabada NFTs to other players to use as reinforcements. Players get to set their own lending fees, with 10% going to the Tavern, Crabada’s in-game NFT lending platform.
Crabada has a system in place that dictates how much TUS and CRA players can earn through mining and looting. The looting rewards of course vary depending on whether a looting mission is successful or not. What’s more, players who are not able to defend against looters are subject to losing both CRA and TUS.

The future of the promising blockchain game
It’s fair to say that like many Avalanche NFTs, Crabada has flown under the radar for most people in the NFT space. Even so, Crabada is part of the fast-growing ecosystem of Avalanche NFTs and blockchain games.
Not to mention that Crabada has been quite successful so far. To illustrate, the cheapest available Crabada on the project’s marketplace at the time of writing costs 14,900 TUS (currently about $1,659). Certainly an impressive floor price for the blockchain game NFTs.
As far as the future of Crabada, the game is preparing some exciting updates. Particularly, there is now a prototype out for the new Battle Game mode. This mode will include PVE (player versus environment) and PVP (player versus player) features.
