Blockchain-based 4x MMO strategy game League of Kingdoms will now integrate Chainlink’s Verifiable Randomness Function (VRF) into their gaming ecosystem. This capability will provide truly random traits for new Drago NFTs in the breeding game. The integration will create a much higher level of transparency within the user experience.

True randomness in League of Kingdoms
Chainlink is an industry veteran with a solid record of excellence. In essence, the Chainlink VRF is supported by a time-tested oracle network and on-chain verification that proves the integrity of each random number. This is very useful for a breeding game like League of Kingdoms. To ensure a fair breeding process, they need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user can audit.
Consequently, Drago NFT minters will be able to safely verify that the genes for each of their dragons are truly random. Players can be sure that all transactions are provably fair. This means that no internal or external parties can tamper with them. While this is not entirely necessary, it shows the team’s commitment to excellence and openness.
Basically, a 4x massively multiplayer online game refers to an ‘Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate’ strategy game. According to the team, League of Kingdoms now boasts 800k monthly active users.
Since June 2020, they have been using smart contracts for transactions and governance. Moving forward, they are looking to build a new decentralized gaming platform. Furthermore, many industry-leading investors are backing this project. This includes a16z, Binance Labs, Blocktower Capital, etc.
