Gaming platform MOBOX has officially launched MOMOverse, the first metaverse on the Binance ecosystem. Founded last year, MOBOX started out as a DeFi system. However, since then, the company has launched four games with play-to-earn elements. These include Token Master, ChainZ Arena, Block Brawler, and MOland Defense.

“We are proud to introduce the MOMOverse!,” MOBOX wrote in a recent blog post. “A whole new world of fun where MOBOXers can create, explore, and be who they want to be in a MOMO World of infinite possibilities.”
What is the MOMOverse?
The MOMOverse will serve as a central hub for a number of interconnected applications. A brand new NFT marketplace, several social games, a museum to display NFTs, and more are part of this digital world. To explain, at ‘MOmarket’, an NFT marketplace, you can trade NFTs hassle-free. Then, ‘MOsocial’ offers a network of social games with resource islands, party farming, guild wars, and more. You can show off your NFTs in the ‘MOseum’ and team up with other players to conquer lands in ‘MOland’. Lastly, you can design and mint your own assets in ‘MOBOX Creator’.
In a nutshell, MOMOverse allows players to “experience an immersive, casual, and relaxing gaming experience.” Once you enter the MOMOverse, you can pick from a range of roles. These include collector, farmer, shopkeeper, builder, or pretty much anything.
The metaverse is inhabited by unique NFT creatures called MOMOs, who can mine for tokens in the virtual world. While MOMO is an existing character in the MOBOX ecosystem, with the virtual world’s launch, these will have added abilities. For instance, apart from the original MBOX mining camp, MOBOX has added five new mining camps. These are—Bird Camp, Beast Camp, Fish Camp, Monster Camp, and Epic Camp. These camps produce new resources—Feathers, Leather, Pearls, Ore, and Gold, respectively.

Build your home with resources!
The better the quality of your MOMO, the faster you can mine resources. Once you mine the resources, you can convert them into building materials through crafting. All in all, there are 10 different types of building materials with three rarities: common, uncommon, and unique. Furthermore, there are two different methods to create materials—Normal Synthesis and Advanced Synthesis. While the former does not require the MBOX token and takes a longer time to complete, the latter needs MBOX and completes in a shorter time.
With the building materials, you can build your own MOMO Home in the MOMOverse! You can pick from five different buildings for your home: Town Hall, Lighthouse, Craft House, Airship, and Dockyard. Each building has a unique design and a unique function. So pick what suits you best. Through MOsocial Games, you can gather all sorts of resources and materials to deck up your home. Actually, you can even visit other players’ homes!
All in all, MOMOverse is an interesting metaverse to watch out for this year. How it takes on existing metaverses remains to be seen.
