Now, Efinity is Officially Live On Polkadot

Last week, we reported that Enjin, the developers of Efinity, had announced the launch date of the Efinity parachain on the Polkadot mainnet. Now, after years of research and development, Efinity is finally live on Polkadot! The Enjin Community welcomed this historical moment with much excitement.

What is Efinity?

“Four years ago, we introduced Efinity as a concept. As the industry and technology evolved over time, so did our ideas and the needs of our adopters,” Enjin wrote in a blog post. “The Ethereum network and NFT movement gained traction beyond our expectations, and it was our responsibility to find a scalable, affordable solution that would allow adopters to build blockchain games and projects for millions of users.” 

That solution is Efinity. Developed by Enjin, the leading ecosystem for NFTs, Efinity is a next-generation blockchain for NFTs. The team’s mission was to provide a home for the world’s gamers on the blockchain. In addition to Polkadot’s security, Efinity users will also be able to enjoy low transaction fees. 

Apart from offering high scalability, the team wanted to create a cross-chain system that could host any crypto and NFT without the need for deploying a smart contract. In other words, users can move assets on Efinity without asking for the creator’s permission. Polkadot’s interoperability helps to enable just that. For all of these reasons, Enjin decided to develop Efinity as a parachain on Polkadot. 

Efinity has been live on Polkadot’s Rococo test network since early this month. Now that it’s live as a parachain on the mainnet, the next step is to integrate Efinity into the Enjin Platform. Already, over 100 projects have committed to developing on the blockchain! Some of these include Age of Rust, Space Misfits, Lost Relics, and much more.
