Player vs Player (PVP) horse racing game Pegaxy is charging ahead with fresh game updates! Fresh from its beta release last Q4 2021, the possible rival of Zed Run is making moves to improve its user experience and overall ecosystem. This roll-out is crucial for the project because its in-game economy has been falling in the past few weeks.

Pegaxy Game Updates and Next Moves
Pegaxy heavily involved the community in the planning stage. The team introduced different ideas then the community reviewed them internally. The proposed updates include flipping cooldowns for all breeds and adding cooldowns to adults when breeding. Additional variable energy to newborn Pega and adding more Pegas to races were also considered. Lastly, the team played around with the idea of giving newborn Pegas 0 energy at birth.
Out of the five proposals, three will be live in the next release. The three approved gameplay changes are:
- Flipping cooldowns for all breeds to provide different incentives for breeding
- Adding cooldowns to adults when breeding
- Newborn Pegas will have 0 energy at birth
The team rejected the idea of giving a variable energy limit to newborn Pegas because big guilds will have an unfair advantage. Meanwhile, the other proposals were parked but still a possible option in the future. For example, introducing additional Pegas has been bumped down at a later stage because it requires changes to the 3D racetracks.

Although this was a crowdsourcing initiative, the team still called the shots. They determined that some of the fixes would just speed up or delay the ROI of the Pega. In addition, it wouldn’t necessarily help the game’s economy in the long run, so it’s not worth pursuing for the time being.
If you want to know more about the decision-making process, watch out for the release of the Pegaxy Myth Busters. The video series will explain the team’s rationale for not implementing some of the ideas of the community.
Apollo, Themis and API Updates
Aside from the gameplay, Pegaxy also zeroed in on other aspects of the ecosystem. For example, the Apollo dashboard had a make-over. The team improved the overall user interface and added a new Liquidity Pool leaderboard. They also added a statistics page related to the recent valentines day breeding event.
Meanwhile, Themis, the governance platform for the Pegaxy ecosystem, also received some TLC. They have developed a voting algorithm similar to other DAOs to give all members and guilds fair voting rights. Moving forward, Themis will also make it easier for the community to submit development proposals.
Lastly, the team also updated all the API endpoints and provided comprehensive documentation as requested by the community.
Recap: Pegaxy
The Pegaxy gameplay is currently in a 2D Version 1 model with race performance delivered through an RNG system (random number generator). Basically, each race has 12 horses running, with the top 3 horses receiving prizes in the game reward token VIS. Currently, RNG determines the race position but this will change pretty soon. Once V2 is live, it will be more dynamic. The system will consider factors such as changing environment or stadium conditions. This is a function of the attributes of each horse and the food and apparel that they have.
With over 80,000 followers on Twitter, the game is steadily growing its community. So follow them to catch the latest newest!
