What you need to know about TRV’s $6.5M funding
As mentioned, The Red Village raised $6.5M in a seed round to expand its dark-fantasy NFT game. Notable investors include Animoca Brands and GameFi Ventures Fund.
Now, there are 2 game modes in The Red Village. One is the Tournament mode which is live in Beta right now. And the other game mode “The Red Village: Darklands” is currently under development by Animoca Brand’s Blowfish Studios. To those who don’t know, Blowfish is the creator of Phantom Galaxies, another popular NFT game.
Nonetheless, the TRV team will use these funds to develop an immersive gaming experience in its latest expansion. With that, the team is hoping to attract more traditional gamers to play in this dark fantasy world.
“We have rarely seen a project that inspires traditional gamers to make the jump into blockchain gaming, and we believe the reason for that is the lack of great game experiences. We will offer a great game experience,” said Brendan Robb, the co-founder of The Red Village.
What is The Red Village?
In essence, The Red Village is a multiplayer fighter game on the blockchain where players will send their Champions to PvP tournaments. Those who won the battles will earn cash prizes in USD.
The game is also one of the successful blockchain games with 2 sold-out NFT sales in 2021 and 2022. The team generated more than 1,100 ETH from both sales and over 3,000 ETH from secondary sales.
