The Sandbox reached two million registered users on top of their season two release last Thursday. The Sandbox has been developing its ecosystem for roughly four years. As a result, they have gathered tremendous backing for their project.

Published by Animoca Brands, The Sandbox is a metaverse game backed by NFTs and its native SAND token. The development of The Sandbox ecosystem has been an ongoing mission. A long-awaited season one alpha premiered in November, with season two only four months later. More than 200 play-to-earn games will be accessible during season two by users. The games will enable them to complete quests and earn raffle tickets. In return, raffle tickets offer them a chance to win a free Season 2 Alpha Pass.
A total of 10,000 Season 2 Alpha Passes are available, with each Pass allowing holders to win up to 1,000 $SAND token rewards. The SAND token is currently at $2.98, with a market cap of $3.3 billion. In addition, users inside the Sandbox will also be able to explore 35 different virtual experiences; including sneak peeks of the “Snoopverse” by Snoop Dogg. All previously registered users of the metaverse and those who sign up during the four-week Alpha Season 2 launch event will access the platform.
“The Sandbox is making strong progress in hinting at the possibilities of the Metaverse – open, fun, culturally rich, avatar-centric, story-driven activities supporting women, diversity, art, fashion, lifestyle, and more – as Alpha Season 2 begins, with our team, the community, and our partners creating exciting new content to support our two million users. Alpha Season 2 will build on the success of the first Alpha Season, which attracted over 200,000 visitors, earned 90 percent positive feedback, and distributed over five million $SAND.”- Sebastien Borget, Co-founder & COO, The Sandbox
At this time, Season 2 is currently available for Windows and macOS users. As Animoca pushes farther to a true metaverse, The MediaVerse will be here to cover it.
