Wendy’s goes beyond meat with eyes set on Meta as they enter a partnership with Facebook. Wendy’s will have a virtual restaurant inside Facebook’s metaverse platform, Horizons. The “Wendyverse” will be available to all Americans & Canadians with access to an Oculus 2 Quest starting April 2nd.

Wendy’s Meta Debut
Set for a grand opening tomorrow, the virtual fast food joint will feature various attractions scattered throughout the digital world. With opportunities for participants to win IRL food and prizes, the major attraction inside Meta will be the WendyVerse. Furthermore, with the opening dubbed the ‘first phase’,web3 enthusiasts and fans of the franchise are looking forward to future utilities from the company.
At this time, the property contains three parts:
- The metaverse restaurant where customers will be able to win IRL food
- A basketball court in the Buck BiscuitDome
- A Fanta-filled park fountain
For now, the users can shoot hoops inside the Buck BiscuitDome and use a cannon to free T-shirts from the stadium stands. Also, users can make the ‘Fry guy’ perform a dance though I’ve heard he can be quite flat-footed. Additionally, the upcoming virtual attraction will feature Easter Eggs (special rewards) scattered throughout the restaurant.
At the moment, there is an onslaught of companies and institutions attempting to make their mark in the NFT space. Thus, ownership of digital land seems to run as a common theme among the crowds, as few have taken a different approach.
Financial institutions such as JP Morgan and HSBC leap into the metaverse creating digital land inside The Sandbox and Decentraland. American express trademarks brand names and icons for their Web3 advancements. Not to mention the recent purchase of CryptoPunk 7612 by Visa for 49.5 after forming their crypto branch to help small businesses and creators.
As the Web3 industry continues to blossom, The MediaVerse is happy to be a guiding hand through the chaos.
