Mobile gaming company Wildlife Studios is finally joining Web3 with its flagship, Castle Crush. In partnership with AVAX, the game creator will soon add features enabling NFT minting in the battle game.
All game cards in Castle Crush will now have the Ascended Tier version. Since these would be available as NFTs, players can trade, loan, or sell them to other users. If they want to mint or upgrade their NFTs, players can also use new tokens called Ascension Crystals ($ACS). Castle Crush players can earn these tokens in-game.
“We are thrilled to be building new games with Avalanche,” said Fernando Sette. He’s the senior director of product at Wildlife Studios. He also says the company will be “unlocking features and functionalities that make Web3 gaming a big win for users.”
Sette describes how blockchain games tend to be a clunky addition to a player’s experience. While adopting NFTs and Web3 features, the director wants to make the experience smoother for their fans.
To be fair, though, blockchain battle games such as Thetan Arena already match the taste of many gamers. Like Castle Crush, Thetan Arena is also a real-time strategy game. But unlike the Wildlife Studios game, Thetan Arena is a Web3 native. It uses the Binance Smart Chain like Hero Infinity.
Why Wildlife Studios Chose Avalanche
While many other blockchain solutions exist, Wildlife Studios has chosen to partner with Avalanche for its Web3 era. Sette speaks on why it did and what Wildlife is looking to achieve with Avalanche.
“The high performance and deeply customizable nature of Avalanche has removed the obstacles to making Web3 games that excite, intrigue, and engage our players,” Sette remarks. The product director seems to be speaking with their fanbase in mind. Soon, AVAX will help the game developer customize and improve its player experience.
John Wu, President of Ava Labs, seems to reaffirm the goal with Avalanche’s subnets feature. “Subnets will catalyze explosive growth and adoption of blockchain-enabled gaming,” said Wu. “They come with all the benefits of Avalanche plus total control for the game studio over their own network.”
With Avalanche, Wildlife Studios can continue experimenting on game features and do it fast. “We’re excited to partner with studios like Wildlife through our Multiverse program and to usher in a new age of gaming,” Wu concludes.
Wildlife Studios Has Global Fans
Wildlife Studios is among the ten largest game creators in the world. It has launched more than 60 games across 10 years of game development. Brothers Victor and Arthur Lazarte founded the company. With their creative vision, they have built fan-favorite games such as Castle Crush. They’ve also built War Machines. Zooba, Colorfy, Sniper 3D, and Tennis Clash.
Currently, we’re hoping to see the game company make an entirely new game that’s Web3 native. Through their recent partnership with Avalanche, that’s not impossible. Apparently, the core team wants to make a calculated move by starting off with Castle Crush. So far in the App Store, the game has already had an average star rating of 4.8 across 80.3K reviewers.
