Zilliqa announced they are releasing SDKs for Unity developers to support and boost Web3 game development. Zilliqa’s Head of Gaming Technology, Valentin Cobelea, will spearhead the launch. The Unity SDKs are a by-product of Zilliqa’s aim to build a “frictionless gaming ecosystem for the Web3 world”.

What Are Zilliqa Unity SDKs?
Unity is one of the most used game engines in the world. Many popular games including PokemonGo, Among Us, Fall Guys, and Hearthstone are built on it.
An SDK or a software developer kit is a set of tools designed to help developers create software for a specific platform or hardware.
Basically, a Zilliqa UnitySDK will give Unity 3D developers access to the Zilliqa blockchain, giving them ease in Web3 game creation. Moreover, the SDK contains tools, including sample code, scenes, prefabs, scripts, and other assets helpful during game development.
Notably, the SDK also has its documentation to help developers in upskilling into the ecosystem. Interested game developers can view Unity 3D SDK’s current progress can via GitHub. The latest release includes NFT support in version 2.1.
Zilliqa and Web3 Gaming
The Unity 3D SDK is the first in a series of Zilliqa SDKs. According to Zilliqa, their goal is to develop a set of SDKs as they build the foundation for a wider gaming ecosystem. At the same time, allow these projects to integrate within Metapolis.
Ultimately, the aim of the SDK transcends onboarding new developers to the Zilliqa ecosystem. Zilliqa said the vision is to allow games built on other blockchains to integrate with their network.
